Mating display by male Superb Lyrebird in Tasmania but no females are interested.

Winter is the breeding season for Superb Lyrebirds. To attract a female  the male clears circle areas in his territory and sings and displays to  impress the females that live close by. They can have many display areas  in a territory hoping to get the attention of a resident female.

Strange! Female or Juvenile male superb lyrebird displaying?

I recently caught this female or juvenile male displaying like an adult  male on a cleared area that is used by the resident adult male.  I’ve  never heard of this. Usually the females wait for the male to display.  Any juvenile male in the vicinity would be chased away by the adult  male. Two hours later the adult male turned up and his display attracted  a female. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated in the comments.

A Wombat passing by the camera.

The common wombat is the largest burrowing herbivorous mammal in the  world and the second largest marsupial after the kangaroo. Weighing  about 35 kg, some can weigh up to 50 kg.
